July Feast Days: Meet the Catholic Saints We Celebrate This Month
Share
"Since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses..." — Hebrews 12:1
One of the greatest gifts of being Catholic is that we never walk toward Heaven alone.
Throughout the year, the Church celebrates the lives of the Catholic Saints, whose feast days continue to inspire believers around the world. These July Feast Days offer us an opportunity to pray with the saints, learn from their example, and ask for their powerful intercession.
This July, the Church calendar is especially rich with beloved Catholic Saints whose lives reveal extraordinary faith, courage, humility, and perseverance. Each feast day invites us to grow closer to Christ by following their example and entrusting our prayers to their loving intercession.
Throughout this month at Marie Madeleine, we'll be taking a closer look at several of these saints on their feast days—sharing more about their lives, the virtues they practiced, what we can learn from them today, and how they continue to intercede for us in Heaven.
Whether you're meeting one of these saints for the first time or have had a lifelong devotion to one of them, we hope you'll join us in discovering the beauty of their witness and be inspired to walk your own path toward holiness.

Why Catholics Pray with the Saints
As Catholics, we believe the saints are alive with Christ in Heaven and continue to pray for us.
Just as we ask family and friends to pray for us here on earth, we can confidently ask the saints to intercede for us before God. Their prayers are powerful because they now stand in His presence.
If you're searching for work, ask St. Joseph to pray for you. If you're raising children, ask Saints Joachim and Anne to intercede for your family. If you're seeking courage, ask St. James. If you're striving for purity, turn to St. Maria Goretti. If you're discerning your vocation or an important decision, ask St. Ignatius of Loyola.
Many Catholics also pray novenas leading up to a saint's feast day—a beautiful tradition of nine days of prayer, entrusting special intentions to their intercession.
Bring your hopes, worries, joys, and struggles to these holy men and women. They are not distant figures from history; they are our brothers and sisters in Christ who desire to help us grow closer to Jesus.
Is a Particular Saint Calling You?
Have you ever noticed the same saint appearing again and again? Perhaps you keep hearing their name, seeing their image, or reading about them unexpectedly.
Sometimes these moments become invitations to learn more about that saint and to begin asking for their prayers. While we can't know with certainty why a particular saint keeps appearing in our lives, many Catholics find that certain saints become faithful spiritual companions throughout different seasons of life.
Spend time learning about them. Read their story. Pray through their novena. Ask for their intercession.
You may discover a lifelong friend in Heaven.
Teaching Children About the Catholic Saints

Children naturally love stories, and the saints offer some of the greatest stories ever told.
Their lives are filled with adventure, courage, kindness, sacrifice, and unwavering love for Christ. Introducing children to the saints helps them see that holiness is possible at every age.
As you celebrate these July feast days, consider reading a saint's story together, praying a novena as a family, displaying a holy image, or simply talking about what each saint teaches us.
The saints remind us that ordinary people, with God's grace, can become extraordinary witnesses of His love.
Inspire a Love for the Saints at Home
One of the best ways to help children grow in their faith is by introducing them to the lives of the saints from an early age. Reading saint stories together, celebrating feast days, and praying as a family helps children discover that holiness is possible in every season of life.
At Marie Madeleine, you'll find a thoughtfully curated collection of Catholic gifts for children, including saint books, faith-filled toys, prayer resources, and gifts designed to help young hearts grow in their love for Jesus and His saints. Whether you're celebrating a feast day or simply looking for meaningful ways to nurture your child's faith, these treasures make learning about the saints both joyful and memorable.

We Are All Called to Be Saints
The saints were not perfect people—they were faithful people.
They struggled, trusted, repented, loved, and continually turned toward Christ. Their lives encourage us to do the same.
As we journey through July together, may these feast days inspire each of us to grow in holiness, deepen our prayer, and remember that Heaven is cheering us on every step of the way.
Who knows?
Perhaps one day, by God's grace, someone will celebrate your feast day too.
Pray with the Saints Through the Treasury of Novenas

One of the most beautiful ways to pray with the saints is through a novena—a tradition of nine consecutive days of prayer in which we ask a saint to intercede for a particular intention. Whether you are praying for healing, guidance, peace, a new job, your family, or a special need close to your heart, novenas help us grow in faith while placing our trust in God's perfect will.

At Marie Madeleine, our Prayer and Devotion Collection includes the Treasury of Novenas, a timeless Catholic prayer book featuring many of the Church's most beloved novenas. It is a wonderful companion throughout the liturgical year, allowing you to prepare for July Feast Days and countless other celebrations by praying alongside the Catholic Saints whose lives continue to inspire us.
Whether you're just beginning a devotion to a saint or have a longtime heavenly friend, the Treasury of Novenas is a meaningful resource to keep close at hand. It also makes a thoughtful gift for anyone seeking to deepen their prayer life and discover the power of the saints' intercession.
As you journey through this month of July Feast Days, consider choosing one saint whose life speaks to your heart. Pray their novena, entrust your intentions to their care, and allow their example to lead you ever closer to Christ.
